The Ministère de la Sécurité publique is committed to respecting the privacy and protecting the personal information of its users. With this in mind, we invite you to review the privacy policy as it relates to the Québec firearm registration service, as well as the terms of use of this website.

Personal information covered by this policy is information required to register your firearm under the provisions of the Firearms Registration Act. No other personal information will be collected without your prior consent.

Failure to provide the information required to register your firearm may result in a delay in processing your application.

Where some information is shown as optional, failure to answer will not affect the processing of your file. However, if no optional reference is made, the required information is needed to process your file. It will be stored in compliance with the Act respecting access and the Archives Act (CQLR, chapter A-21.1). Safety measures have also been put in place to ensure the secure transmission of this information. It will only be communicated in cases specified in the Archives Act. It may also be used for research, evaluation or inquiry purposes.

You can consult the personal information compiled in your file and, if necessary, request that it be amended in accordance with the Act respecting access. Requests for access to information or amendments must be sent in writing to the designated person responsible for access to documents. Since the Ministère de la Sécurité publique has entrusted the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale with managing the operation of the Québec firearm registration service, requests should be sent to the person in charge for access to documents of this ministry:
